FusionGate Rooting Guide
Step-by-step instructions for rooting Samsung A15/A16/A53/A54 devices for FusionGate installation.
⚠️ Important: Rooting your device will void the manufacturer's warranty. Only proceed if you understand the risks and have backed up all important data.
Supported Devices
FusionGate is certified for the following Samsung devices:

Prerequisites
- Samsung device from the supported list above
- Windows PC with USB port
- USB cable (preferably original Samsung cable)
- At least 50% battery charge on the device
- Samsung USB drivers installed on PC
- Odin tool (latest version)
- Device-specific TWRP recovery image
- Magisk APK (latest stable version)
Step 1: Enable Developer Options
- Go to Settings → About Phone
- Tap Software Information
- Tap Build Number 7 times until you see "Developer mode enabled"
- Go back to Settings → Developer Options
- Enable USB Debugging
- Enable OEM Unlocking (if available)
ℹ️ Note: If OEM Unlocking is grayed out, you may need to connect to the internet and wait 7 days after setting up the device.
Step 2: Unlock Bootloader
- Power off the device completely
- Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down simultaneously
- While holding both buttons, connect the USB cable to your PC
- You will enter Download Mode with a warning screen
- Press Volume Up to unlock the bootloader
- The device will factory reset and reboot
⚠️ Warning: This will erase all data on the device. Make sure you have backed up everything important.
Step 3: Extract Boot Image
- Download the stock firmware for your exact device model and region
- Extract the firmware ZIP/TAR file
- Locate the
AP_*.tar.md5file - Extract the
boot.imgfile from the AP archive - Transfer
boot.imgto your phone's internal storage
Step 4: Patch Boot Image with Magisk
- Install the Magisk APK on your phone
- Open Magisk app and tap Install next to Magisk
- Select Select and Patch a File
- Navigate to and select the
boot.imgfile - Wait for Magisk to patch the boot image
- The patched file will be saved as
magisk_patched_*.imgin Downloads - Transfer the patched boot image to your PC
Step 5: Flash Patched Boot Image
- Power off the device
- Enter Download Mode (Volume Up + Down, then connect USB)
- Open Odin on your PC
- Click AP and select the patched boot image
- Make sure only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked in Options
- Click Start to flash
- Wait for the process to complete (you'll see "PASS!" in green)
- The device will reboot automatically
Step 6: Verify Root Access
- After the device boots, open the Magisk app
- You should see "Installed" next to Magisk with a version number
- Install a root checker app from Play Store to verify
- Grant root access when prompted
✅ Success! Your device is now rooted and ready for FusionGate installation. Proceed to the Installation Guide.
Troubleshooting
Device stuck in boot loop
If your device is stuck in a boot loop after flashing:
- Enter Download Mode and flash the original stock boot image
- Re-download the correct firmware for your exact model
- Try the patching process again
Odin shows "FAIL!"
- Try a different USB cable (preferably original Samsung)
- Use a USB 2.0 port instead of USB 3.0
- Reinstall Samsung USB drivers
- Disable antivirus temporarily
Magisk not showing as installed
- Make sure you flashed the patched boot image, not the original
- Try patching again with the latest Magisk version
- Ensure the stock firmware matches your device exactly
